Novel Jazz Septet

Trinitarian Congregational Parish of Castine (the Main St. church), 68 Main St. Castine.

The Novel Jazz Septet will be hosting an evening of swinging jazz by icons Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. They will be celebrating Strayhorn’s 110th anniversary this season, putting some special emphasis on his compositions as well as celebrating the 21st anniversary of the band, spreading this timeless music around New England.   Novel will be presenting their brand-new 2025 show of newly found and arranged compositions by Ellington, his musical sidekick, Billy Strayhorn, as well as other notable members of Ellington’s illustrious orchestra.  Remember, “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!”
