The Castine Arts Association board has made the difficult decision to suspend the Castine Plein Air Festival indefinitely. Many other events will fill the summer calendar in 2020, putting a strain on volunteer resources. Also, CAA has noted a trend towards diminishing interest in the festival, with resulting falling sales. Our artists and the volunteers who put in many hours planning the festival deserve a better outcome. We wish to extend a big thank you to all of the artists who have traveled to our festival and created fabulous art over the past seven years. And our volunteers, hosts, sponsors and donors also deserve recognition for their invaluable contributions. Thank you!
The CAA board will be working on future alternatives to the festival, and hope you will keep an eye on our site for updates. As always, we welcome your suggestions and comments. Please send us an email at info@castinearts.org and let us know your thoughts.
